About Us

Why do you fund the things you do?
We want to help local communities in the poorest parts of the world to transform their lives for the better. We believe that this can be best achieved through effective and sustainable health and education. They are the key to a better long-term future.

Staff Accommodation
Many mission hospitals and schools are in remote areas with poor communications and few amenities. Good accommodation helps to attract qualified staff to come and work in these areas. Often they are hundreds of miles from their own families. It’s very similar to essential workers in the UK and it wasn’t that long ago that hospitals and schools in the UK provided staff accommodation.

Hospital Buildings
For any health initiative to be successful, it’s essential that they are backed up by hospitals with good basic facilities, especially for maternity services, HIV/AIDS and the treatment of diseases such as malaria. Ensuring that hospitals have adequate facilities provides the foundation for developing effective primary and community health initiatives.

Schools
Education is the key to so much and is critical to developing long-term improvements in people’s health. Without good basic literacy and numeracy, it is difficult for people to be properly educated in basic hygiene and nutrition. A good basic education also enables those who have the academic ability to go on to secondary school education and beyond.

Community Health Projects
Health and nutrition education and access to clean water and crops for food and/or incomes are essential to ensuring the long-term success and stability of many of our programmes. They also help to train local people in new skills and can be used to provide incomes to other programmes.

Primary Health Care
Primary Health Care is the cornerstone of every health system in the world. It reaches out into communities, improving access to health services, preventing and treating disease and helping to sustain good health. It involves the community and health professionals coming together to develop lasting solutions, based on appropriate technology.

Staff & Volunteer Training and Education
Ensuring that staff and volunteers have the necessary skills to undertake their roles is hugely important. It encourages best practice, expands the range of support that can be made available and improves the quality of services on offer. It’s also essential to delivering innovative solutions to skills shortages.
