SHALOM Delhi, HIV/AIDS Project, India

Praise Points:

For God's work of transformation in the lives of families affected with HIV and also among the families in the slum where Shalom ran a development project. Some of these families have come to know Christ in a personal way.
By the end of in 2011, Shalom was able to achieve more than its targets for this period. We thank God for making this possible.
The project has completed 9 years in its present premises. Thank God for this place that He has provided and for good relations with the owner.
The urban health programme was able to complete 3 years in one of the urban slums. It has been able to exit from the slum and has handed the project over to the local church in the area.

Prayer Points:

This year the project plans to move to a new location in North Delhi on the Delhi – Haryana bypass. This would increase our coverage area to include Haryana as well. Please pray that the process of shifting and transition would be smooth.
Please pray for all the programmes under Shalom – critical care, palliative care, home based care, adolescent programme, church mobilization, capacity building, transgender programme and urban health programme. Pray that each programme would work to its optimal capacity and that each would complement the other so that together we can continue to work towards our goal of whole person care. Pray for continued unity of the team so that together we could work for God's kingdom.
Please pray for the needed finances for us to continue to run our programmes.
The urban health programme has started a new phase in which it will work with six churches in urban poor locations to carry out development and welfare activites in their communities. Please pray for God's wisdom and guidance in this new endeavour.
The transgender programme works among the eunuchs who are a highly marginalized group. Please pray that the gospel of Jesus would touch their lives and that some of them would come to know Jesus personally.
