Prayer Focus - Week Commencing 13th November 2011

Broadwell Christian Hospital (BCH), Fatehpur, India

· Praise God that Drs Sujith and Sunitha are both back at work after three months much-needed leave.

· As a result of a fall, their son, Saral, sustained a fractured femur. Give thanks that he is now out of plaster and running around once more.

· Praise God for the magnificent way in which Dr Saurav, the junior doctor at BCH, held the fort during Drs Sujith and Sunita’s absence.

· The current work load at BCH is very heavy, with 170 deliveries per month and 150 patients attending the OPD daily. Pray that the Lord would continue to strengthen and sustain the medical staff as they serve Him there, and that He will provide whatever resources they need to cope.

· An orthopaedic surgeon is currently working with the team at BCH, but he spends all his time carrying out Caesarian sections. Pray that God would meet the urgent need for a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join the team.

· There is an urgent need for an ICU facility, consisting of four beds, a casualty and patient waiting area, to treat poorer patients, who cannot afford to go to the hospital at Kanpur. Please commit this project to God, trusting that He will undertake.

· Pray for Dr Sujith as he travels to Wisconsin, USA, to attend a three week symposium on Mission and Christian Leadership.
