Prayer Focus - Week Commencing 20th November 2011

"Those who hope upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles... " Isaiah 40:31

This prayer diary is used by many people around the world. While we focus specifically on our brothers and sisters in India, Malawi and Nepal, we can also uphold each other before God’s throne of grace.

Father, we bring before you our brothers and sisters living in other lands. You know their needs today and we claim Your promise to supply their every need for food, shelter, comfort and encouragement.

Grant them wisdom today in all the hard decisions that they must make - decisions that will affect the lives of other people; decisions in health care: to treat or not to treat; to use limited resources wisely; to listen to the prompting of Your Holy Spirit when speaking with others.

Grant them strength to go the extra mile when their human, physical strength is failing them. You have said that ‘those who hope upon the Lord will renew their strength’. Be their hope today, sustain and enable them to do Your will.

At the end of the day, grant them rest from their labours; refreshment in Your presence; joy in knowing that they do Your will.

United in the blood of Christ, we thank You for our Christian family, whether here or there, as together we love and serve a risen Saviour in Christ, our Lord. Amen
