Surefooted as a deer

God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect. He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights. Psalm 18: 30-33 NLT

Deer get into the most amazing, places – craggy mountain ledges, high mountain tops – places which seem impossible to reach, let alone feel safe and secure on. The psalmist knows something of that experience! How wonderful it is to affirm that God’s way is perfect, proving all His wonderful promises, being surefooted as a deer on the mountains as well as in the valleys!

Give thanks for the experience of God’s presence, for his leading, his protection, and his enabling. Praise him as, day by day, his promises prove true.
Pray for medical students who spend their electives in mission hospitals overseas. Pray that their time overseas will be a rich and rewarding experience. Pray that they will respond to God’s call on their lives, whatever that call might be.
Pray for those who receive a grant from the Hawthornbrae Trust enabling them to have a recuperative holiday, which would otherwise be unavailable to them. Pray that their time away will be refreshing in mind as well as body.
Give thanks for those who regularly support the work of EMMS International by standing order, especially during this time of economic uncertainty. God has been faithful over many years, enabling EMMS International to support many varied projects overseas. Pray that this will continue.
Pray for the Board of Directors as they oversee the work of EMMS International, and set policy and strategy, sometimes leading in the direction of ‘craggy mountain ledges’. Pray that they will be aware of God’s leading and direction.
