Prayer Focus - Week Commencing 4th September 2011
September 7, 2011 - 16:27
Mike Millar, Events Project Officer
This year we are running more small scale events, closer to home, to open up the opportunities to a wider group of people. In August we will be taking part in Lap the Lough, Ireland’s biggest cycling event, with a team there and, in September, it’s Bike and Hike. Such events offer great opportunities:
- to see the wonders of creation in a different light;
- to enjoy the fellowship of our friends and to make new ones;
- to use our physical talents in a practical way to raise money for those not so fortunate;
- to rejoice in our very existence.
“Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain.” Isaiah 40.4
Lord, as we cycle, walk and run to your glory, help us, through our efforts, to make every mountain and hill low.
Help us to see in the landscape, sky and road, your works and through this to worship you better and more fully.
We thank you for the friends we have and the friends we will make – we are indeed blessed.
We thank you for our physical abilities, for the pleasure that we get from using them and for the opportunity to do this to your glory. Amen
