Prayer Focus - Week Commencing 6th November 2011

Sunday 6 November is the start of our 19^th Cycle Ride in Israel and Palestine. This is a great occasion for us as we celebrate the 150^th Anniversary of the founding of the Nazareth Hospital. The funds raised are being divided equally between the two sister charities, EMMS Nazareth and EMMS International, which is a wonderful way of celebrating our common heritage.

Today, thirty cyclists are setting out to Cycle the Galilee, from Mount Carmel to the Lebanese border, down to the Sea of Galilee, and thence to Nazareth for the celebrations. Please pray for them this week, for their safety and the success of their venture. Also, we ask your prayers for all those who depend upon the efforts of such supporters, in Nazareth, in Malawi, India and Nepal.

Lord Jesus, as we travel where you travelled, see the land you saw, touch the ground you touched and hear the sounds you heard, help us to understand the mystery of your presence on earth, incarnate. Your sacrifice for us all must be our example and, although it puts our efforts to shame, give us the grace to do what we can to help others who so need our support in body and spirit. Bless our endeavours and see us safely home. Amen
