Believers are salt and light

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavour, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:13-16

Give thanks for the work of EMMS office staff. Pray that during this holiday time they might be refreshed and renewed by some rest time.
EMMS International collects knitted blankets and baby clothes for distribution to mums and babies in Malawi. Give thanks for the army of knitters throughout the country who produce beautifully knitted goods. They give freely of their time and skills, provide the wool, and deliver the items to the Edinburgh office.
Pray for the Board of Trustees of EMMS International. The Trustees offer their time and skills in the service of the organisation. Please pray for wisdom in their decision making.
EMMS International works in partnership with organisations throughout the world. Please pray that there is understanding and co-operation between all our partners; EHA (Emmanuel Hospital Association) India; Bethany Trust, Thane, India; INF (International Nepal Fellowship) in Nepal; CCAP (Church of Central Africa Presbyterian) in Malawi, and The Nazareth Trust.
Many students of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Midwifery, and Physiotherapy are spending time on their electives at Mission hospitals overseas. Pray that they might have blessed time and a safe and worthwhile elective placement wherever they are working.
