‘We are supplying funds to build staff accommodation for nursing and medical staff.’James Wells, EMMS International
Broadwell Christian Hospital, Fatehpur
BCH was opened in 1909 and served the communities of Fatehpur for many years. However, the fortunes of the hospital slowly declined until it was near to closing in 2003.
EMMS International agreed to support the hospital in rebuilding its infrastructure so that it could attract staff and develop the services offered to the community.
The transformation of Broadwell Christian Hospital over the past few years has been significant, and patient numbers have increased markedly.
EMMS International has supplied funds to build staff accommodation for nursing and medical staff, as well as wards and providing equipment for the operating theatres.
Fatehpur district has a population of 2.3 million and is one of the poorest districts in India. There is a great need for health education, maternal and child health services, HIV & AIDS services and a wide range of medical and surgical care.
