Surkhet, Nepal

The clinic at Surkhet is developing its support to local communities, addressing their health needs through a network of resourced health posts.

The area served by the project is very rural and isolated. Roads are very poor and many villages are hours, or even days walk from the nearest road.

EMMS International has supplied funds to provide training and equipment for fieldwork. We were also delighted to be able to fund the refurbishment of a remote Health Post in the village of Awalching, an 8 hour walk into the Himalayan foothills.

Our last Nepal Trek raised funds to purchase and stock an ambulance to travel out to surrounding villages.

Our support has had a substantial impact on the development of the project.
