Safeguarding and Whistleblowing

EMMS International takes its responsibilities to vulnerable people extremely seriously and has policies in place to safeguard children and vulnerable adults in the communities in which we work, as well as whistle-blowing processes to highlight any potential breach.

We also have a Standards and Ethical Policy that requires the highest standards of everyone representing EMMS International.   Last year alone our staff and partners helped over 210,000 and we take the safety and well-being of these people very seriously.

On 16 February 2018, we responded to a letter from Rt Hon Penny Mordaunt, Secretary of State for International Development, on the issue of safeguarding in the international development sector. Our response confirmed that "To date, and to the best of our knowledge, we are not aware of any concerns relating to EMMS International staff and trustees or those of our partners. Neither have we had any concerns reported to us."

You can read the full response and our relevant policies in the documents listed below.
