Thinking about a career in the charity sector? This is an opportunity to learn more about it and get hands on with event planning and fundraising for Scotland's oldest international healthcare charity. Join our small, friendly team in the EMMS International office near Haymarket where you'll be working on our high profile St Andrew's Night Dinner in the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. Come and help make it happen!
Who are we looking for?
You’ll be somebody who works well as part of a friendly team. You'll be encouraged to show initiative and enthusiasm as you learn through doing. With strong organisational skills and an eye for detail you’ll be willing to turn your hand to a wide range of tasks. You’ll have a heart for fundraising to help those who are sick and living in extreme poverty in hard to reach parts of the world.
Opportunities to develop
You'll gain good logistical, planning and fundraising skills. You'll develop your interpersonal and communication skills as you engage with our wonderful family of supporters and reach out to potential supporters.
“I have been directly involved with event organisation and a big communications research project. Both activities have pushed me to develop professionally. The EMMS team has supported me at every step, and thanks to them I have grown as an individual. It has definitely been worth it!" Letizia Manzoni, Volunteer (2017)
Ideally you’ll be able to work 7 – 14 hours a week for a minimum of six weeks and, up to a year, subject to other study/work commitments.
