There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven - Ecclesiastes 3:1
Where has half a year gone? As we enjoy the stretched out summer days we know they begin to shorten again. Sometimes it feels that life goes past all too quickly. We're grateful that 'there is a time for every event under heaven.'
We pray for all those enduring the impact of climate change, coronavirus and conflict. We pray for those experiencing them directly and for those having to cope with the rising cost of living. While we might all be in the same storm, we're not all in the same boat and so we pray for the most vulnerable in our communities and around the world.
We pray for those affected by monsoon rains in India and Nepal, particularly those communities which have been devastated by landslides and flooding.
We pray for Malawi following a currency devaluation and where the cost of living crisis is biting hard. We ask for wisdom for those faced with difficult decisions as they lead the country through this period. We pray for provision for those balancing household costs as food and transport prices rise.
We give thanks for the churches who are part of the EMMS International community and for their faithful support. We're grateful for the opportunity to be together in person again, including a recent visit to St Andrew's Parish Church in Moffat.
We give thanks for all those who have signed up to be a Champion of Change and are grateful for the support of Prof Jason Leitch and Prof Angela Thomas in promoting this campaign.
