Your support is providing training for Nurse Manju, Nepal's first palliative care nurse specialist. Through her patients receive the best care possible including adequate pain relief, and their families get the support they need to care for loved ones.
Nurse Manju also trains other nurses and shows hospitals how they can adopt palliative care practices too.
On a larger scale you are supporting research to assess the need for palliative care across Nepal to help drive national policy and progress. The ultimate aim is every person has access to the pain relief and care they need when there isn't a cure.
Following the earthquake the research will now include the effect of disasters upon the lives of palliative care patients. It is hoped this can be used in other countries too so when disaster strikes the most vulnerable aren't left helpless.
