Become a Trustee

EMMS International is Scotland's international Christian healthcare charity which, for over 180 years, has improved health and healthcare around the world. Now we do this in Malawi, India, Nepal and Scotland.  We are looking for passionate trustees who are Christians, active in church life, and who care deeply about our mission. By becoming a trustee, you can help us in this work. 

 

We have 4 board meetings each year, which trustees can attend either online or in-person in Edinburgh, or potentially Glasgow.

Each board meeting lasts 2 hours and reading the board papers could take another 2 hours before each meeting. 

There are opportunities for some trustees to join one of our board’s sub-committees, either Finance or Safeguarding. These also meet quarterly. 

 

We have a turnover of £2 million, and 6 staff who work remotely or occasionally in our office in Edinburgh. We are funded by churches, UK Government, and many trusts and individuals.
